I am the chair of the Antiracism Learning and Action in Neuroscience (ALAN) group at UW-Madison. I founded this group with two goals in mind:
1. Learning about systemic racism within our institutions and its impacts on Black folks, Indigenous folks, and other folks of color.
2. Developing actions that we can take in our labs, departments, schools, and larger communities to support marginalized folks and work towards dismantling systemic racism.
Our interdisciplinary community of students, professors, and research associates has been meeting regularly since the summer of 2020, and together we've built a collection of resources that may be helpful to other academics trying to dismantle systemic racial injustice.
