Explore the ruins of a magical school tucked deep within the forest.
The Academy was once on the verge of discovering magic that could pierce reality. To protect its hard-earned knowledge from the outside world the school sealed itself within an immense, opalescent bubble, waiting for the day when it could unveil the culmination of its progress. But that day never came, and the school was left to molder within its impenetrable cocoon.
The Academy Chrysalis is a scenario for Trophy Gold, a collaborative roleplaying/ storytelling game about treasure hunters exploring an environment that doesn't want them there. The Academy Chrysalis takes the feel of Trophy Gold and blends it with ideas of Dark Academia, experimental magic, and barriers to knowledge. In doing so, it seeks to interrogate ways of knowing as systems of power, and explore what it means to treat knowledge as a thing to be treasure-hunted. This game comes with instructions for playing Trophy Gold, as well as some conversions rules for D&D 5e and OSE.
This visually stunning book has over 60 pages of content made by a creative team of artists and editors.
